You read that right!
We’ve been training hard over the past few weeks on our down time in order to prepare for the Asda Foundation Leeds 10k. We’ve been making waves for the last 10 years so it’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate each and every one of them with a kilometer of sweat, blood and tears!
It’s not easy to tear ourselves away from behind our desks but we figure, if ever there was a reason to do so, it would be to contribute toward a cause that is held dear to all our hearts.
None more so than MD Damien Fisher.
When Damien’s son, Chester, was diagnosed with an Exomphalos at twenty weeks into his wife’s pregnancy, he and his family spent two and a half years living in uncertainty and constant worry.
Exomphalos and Gastroschisis are congenital abnormalities that affect one in every two thousand and around one in every ten thousand live births, respectively.
Chester underwent abdominal repair aged eighteen months and, thanks to the staff that occupy ward L42 Children’s General Surgical Ward and Neonates/Surgical Newborns at Leeds Children’s Hospital, the surgery was a success!
The team, here at Fishtank, are a proud and thankful bunch.
We think it’s only right that we give something back to the wonderful staff that continue to save children like Chester, today.
Working this close everyday comes with certain caveats.
You can’t so much as eat an apple in the office without being scrutinised for it –as Damien recently discovered– but the intimate environment is part of what makes us such a strong team.
That’s why we’re pooling our efforts together with a target of raising at least £100 per member of Team Fishtank.
The fact of the matter is that the NHS needs our help.
Not just Fishtank’s but yours too.
It’s no secret that the NHS has been under fire from the media as of late but not once did this affect the level of care that thousands of children like, just like Chester, receive on a daily basis.
Everyone, from the cleaners to the surgeons have been compassionate, caring, attentive, professional and continue to demonstrate why the NHS is the envy of countries around the world.
It’s high time we acknowledge the service that these ladies and gents do for us and our children and Team Fishtank are proud to be a part of that.
Nobody goes without here and this certainly translates to the service we offer our clients.
However, this is one of those rare occasions where we’re asking for your help.
Every penny makes a difference but we understand that you might have other commitments.
That’s why all we ask is that you share this post to your social circle.
If you’d like to contribute to the cause you can do so via our justgiving page here:

Thank you for your ongoing support.
We’ll see you there!
