Hello, I’m Laura and I’ve just joined the Fishtank team where I will be assisting the Design team as their new Junior Designer.

I originally went to Huddersfield University to study surface pattern, but after the university tutors reviewed my portfolio, I was eventually convinced to swap to the Graphic Design course and never looked back. Having recently graduated from Huddersfield University with a BA Honours degree in Graphic Design and simultaneously working full time as a Junior Designer, I am keen to put the skills I have learnt over the years into my work at Fishtank.

Going into my Graphic Design course with a fresh face and a limited amount of knowledge meant I was keen to learn and develop my technical skills but was also able to implement my creativity into my design projects. During my time at university and work experience, I developed skills in branding, logo design, brochures development and even managing and designing a magazine to send to customers.

I’ve always found myself wanting to be creative, so after doodling to my heart’s content in my spare time I decided that the best idea would probably be to start making a side career out of it. In my spare time I design and create dog beds, inspired by my Boxer dog, Reggie.

I have loved my first month at Fishtank! The team are wonderful and the building has beautiful surroundings (looking out of the window to a field full of cows is great)! I am currently assisting the team by producing logo designs and branding for our clients and I look forward to working on a range of different projects for our clients and putting a splash of my creativity into the work I produce.

Name: Laura Miller

Job title: Junior Designer

Interests: I’m a huge softie when it comes to anything dog related, particularly Reggie, the best way to spend a weekend is definitely being out on a walk and getting covered in mud (by him)!
