The Goal
Festive Road, one of the world’s standout providers of business travel, expense, and event management, came to us with a challenge: their brand no longer reflected the dynamic, global team they had become. The old identity, a bowler hat inside a speech bubble, had served them well in the past, but it represented a smaller, more traditional version of who they are today.
They needed a refreshed brand identity that embraced their personality, reflected their name, and communicated their expertise in connecting people and organisations across the globe.
The solution needed to retain some of their established brand equity while modernising their presence for today’s audience.
Our Solution
Creative Foundations
Our starting point was the name itself, Festive Road. We built the new brand around a location pin, symbolising travel, connection, and a sense of place. This evolved into a distinctive emblem: a series of pins forming the letter F, with negative space creating a network of roads. This captured both the journey aspect of the brand and the human connections they make.
Recognising the value in their existing colour palette, we retained and maximised its impact, ensuring the new brand felt both familiar and fresh. We chose a clean yet playful typeface, with certain letterforms intentionally connecting a subtle nod to the way Festive Road brings people together and opens up new paths for their clients.
To give their brand more personality and movement, our designers created a series of vibrant patterns and a custom illustration style that showcased the team’s energy and global reach. A unified sense of flow and journey carried through into the design for both static and motion graphics, ensuring the brand worked seamlessly across all touchpoints.
The last deliverable we designed for Festive Road included comprehensive brand guidelines and an internal toolkit for their team to use. These outlined Festive Road’s values, mission, and purpose, alongside a tone of voice guide to ensure cohesive, consistent communications. The guidelines also showcased the brand in action, with clear directives on usage, ensuring every member of the team could confidently apply it both internally and externally.
Defining objectives
We needed to understand Festive Road’s evolution from a traditional, UK-based brand to a global, remote-working team with a bold and modern vision. We aimed to build a brand that could confidently communicate its expertise while capturing its energy and people-first ethos.

This deep discovery phase enabled us to balance old and new, retaining the trust and recognition of their colour palette while introducing a versatile, contemporary identity that works across print, digital, and live events.
Be Brave
We took a creative leap by replacing the iconic bowler hat with a fresh emblem rooted in the brand’s name and purpose. The location-pin concept allowed for a modern, flexible visual identity that still nodded to the idea of a journey.
Be Human
The human connection at the heart of Festive Road’s work influenced everything from the typography to the illustration style. We made sure that every design decision spoke the same message: people helping people.

Working closely with Festive Road’s distributed team, we refined the brand in iterative stages, gathering feedback at each step. This approach meant the new identity resonated not only with their leadership team but with every team member across the globe.
