The Goal

Traditional Stone (also known as Trad Stone) is a Yorkshire-based supplier of new and reclaimed walling, paving, roofing, and masonry. They approached our agency with a digital goal in mind: to elevate their digital presence, particularly across social media.

Their team recently refreshed their social media channels, and knew that this new phase of content and visual direction needed to reflect the new, professional management of their profiles. This journey wasn’t just a tweak; it marked a new era for Trad Stone.

The objective was to grow brand awareness across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, each focusing on that channel’s distinct audiences and behaviours. Our job was to understand those unique groups and craft platform-specific content that would capture their interest and keep them engaged.

The Challenge & Strategy

Creating The Building Blocks

As with any project our digital team takes on, before jumping into visual concepts, we needed to define the messages behind the content and map out what types of posts would carry them. Trad Stone shared historical performance data from previous months, giving us a solid benchmark and helping us spot patterns in past successes.

From there, our social media team collaborated closely with Trad Stone to combine this data with fresh competitor research, shaping a content strategy designed to reach and resonate with their target audiences. Brand awareness remained our headline goal, but we knew that engagement was the metric that would signal whether the content was truly landing with followers.

It was important that this reintroduction felt like a natural progression, a clear evolution of the brand, without losing the essence of who Trad Stone is. We carefully balanced their tone of voice and imagery to stay true to their core values while still moving the brand forward.

Once the strategy was set in stone, our design team began to craft the visual framework. The Trad Stone team had given us an open brief, meaning our designers had full rein to craft new post templates that felt elevated and professional. They also developed a fresh set of highlight icons that felt slick and distinctive, while staying on-brand.

Further collaboration between our internal digital and creative teams came during the profile optimisation stage. As our social media experts fine-tuned bios and platform setups, our designers refined the profile imagery. The result was a cleaner, more platform-friendly look, removing lettering from the original logo and letting the iconic Trad Stone stamp shine boldly on its own.

From the start of this project, the aim was to revive and re-energise Trad Stone’s online presence and to help the brand level up and deliver content that existing followers (and new ones) would find genuinely engaging. With ideas flowing and visuals to match, the result was a perfect pairing … just like a hammer and chisel.

Just one month into Trad Stone’s new social era, the maturity in their new content and the way it is presented speaks for itself. Their posts are visually impactful, offering something of value; whether that’s information for industry professionals, inspiration for homeowners, or insights for prospective clients. It’s more than just nice-to-look-at content; it’s built to perform and inform.

Behind the scenes, we’re already laying the groundwork for what comes next. Monthly reviews keep us aligned and forward-facing, helping us refine, test, and expand on the strong foundation we’ve set.

Like finding the perfect stone match, this collaboration has only strengthened with each phase. With the first month complete, the story is just beginning, and there’s plenty more to come.

The Result

After just one month of working with our Social Team, Trad Stone is already seeing positive signs of growth across all platforms.

Instagram has seen the most significant follower increase, showing that the right audience is discovering their content and sticking around for more. On Facebook, July’s engagement rate rose by 58% compared to May, proving that users aren’t just seeing the posts, they’re interacting with them too.

LinkedIn has had its best month of the year so far! Page impressions have jumped by over 85% compared to previous peaks, and reposts are at an all-time high, highlighting a strong response from industry peers and professionals.

These early results are just the beginning. With firm foundations now in place, we’re already looking ahead to what’s next: building long-term goals, expanding reach, and continuing to shape a standout digital presence for Traditional Stone.
